Topless Hunks Galore

Aha! Have I gotten your undivided attention now?

My new way of ‘downloading’ the bus timetable. Using my camera. :)

Glenelg

??!! Camels? On the beach? In Adelaide? Plus! The second camel looks like it’s chomping on the first camel’s ass. Just an observation.

Everytime I visit the beach, I can hear Aunt Ester’s words: “Nicola’s like a char siew on the grill. Every 15 minutes or so, she’ll flip herself.” :)

Yummy yummy!

5 minutes later…

Shopaholic On The Loose VI

Ooooo~~~~~ You know what??!!! This is the happiest day of my life!!!! I bought this belt, it’s yellow and it’s really gooooooorgeeeeeeeeous!!! And you know what else???? It was only $1! So no matter what currency you convert it to… it’s still like DIRT CHEAP! Muahahaha! *Jumps around*

Er… I’m a lil’ worried cos’ that’s really how I talk nowadays.

Since my brain’s on hold/ice/holiday right now, I’ve decided to make things easier (for me) and type out conversations instead. Oh, how lazy I’ve become. *Runs and hide*

Yi Wen: “Man! Red Rooster rocks! KFC sucks!” *Hey, it kinda rhymes!*

Me: “Eh, why my burger got bandage?”

Yi Wen: “Oh! Cos it’ll bleed.”

   -_-”

WE bought the white one cos it was $19.90 whereas the pink one I really liked was $40. Yes, we’re very cheapskate people.

The afore-mentioned fabulous belt! :P

Lacy black shoes to add to my collection

The Christmas decorations were up and they were beautiful!

Front Row Seats

I think God must know whenever I’m stressed out. Cos’ whenever the finals are days away, I get things like these: Anzac Day Parade, Guy Sebastian’s 7am concert and the Christmas Parade as my entertainment.

These things usually start pretty early, and by early I mean like 7 something 8. So at 8 something while I was still dreaming, I heard Aladdin’s theme song and LOTS of kiddy voices! I was like “Wtf! Am I still dreaming?!”

Well, I wasn’t.

This was what I found.

What we look like at 9 in the morning after only 4+ hours of sleep.

Why the pounds continue to pile on…

Whew! After so many outings and events, I think my weight is definitely approaching the danger zone (if it’s not already there) with all the food going around. I tell you, it’s impossible to have one without the other. Try imagining CNY without Ang Pows, Christmas without Santa or… ok I digress.

Tying up the loose ends of my 2 weeks vacation are Any’s 22nd Birthday and the Poh Piah Lunch @ Yat Tuang & Sher-Ri’s place.

Sheng Yee, Siao Ek & Ivan

Ivan serving the birthday girl her bowl of rice

Daniel thinks he’s Yao Ming or Shaquille O’Neal

Then, it was back to my place for the cake and interesting part of the night

Her present from us was a pink patent Bilabong wallet

Like I said, this is where things get interesting with our must-have companion @ Johnie Walker Red Label

Daniel was the waiter

Me & my big mouth suggested this primary school game of musical paper thingie where you’ve to fold the paper in half each time the music stops

The strategies these couples came up with were… just hilarious. At least for those on the sidelines :)

See! All the weights you do in the gym were not for nothing :P

Ivan & Amy were lucky to have latched onto each other cos’ they were both so tinnnyyyy~

But… the best was yet to come. What happens if you can’t even fit ONE side of your feet on the paper????!!!!

Well!!!!! The women had to shoulder some of the burden then :P You go Li Xin!!!

Ju-Lear stayed over at our place and Any opted to keep her company. It was 1 something in the morning and Any started teaching JL hakka songs o.O

Oh~ How I miss home!

Had lunch at YT & SR’s place. It was so goooooddddddd to eat a traditional meal :) It’s been ages man! If only I can find a way to courier in fresh ones from my grand-aunt :(

Instead of the traditional popiah skin, we used cold wraps instead. It was so cool I tell you! It actually acts as a bag cos the gravy couldn’t seep out :)

My spontaneous-buy-of-a-bag :)

One last note, I’m making chili con carne again tomorrow but this time for a bigger bunch of people. Fingers crossed. Oh yeah, for the non-beef eaters, I’m specially making olives fried rice. Again, fingers crossed. :)

Btw, classes starts tomorrow. *sob*

Random-ness

By the end of the entry, I swear you’d be into the whole concept of being random too. :)

Anyway, there was a mee hoon kueh/cinnabon-clone/ chocolate cupcakes/ popcorn party at Cardiolicious’s place.

Yeah, before I forget here’s the list I’ve come up with so far:

Maarish —> Yummilicious

Ju-Lear —> Cardiolicious

Li Xin —> Sweetielicious

Daniel —> Danielicious

Ivan —> Ivanlicious

As for me… (^_^)

Hyperlicious

Not being a big fan of mee hoon kueh, you know it’s good if I give it 2 thumbs up. In fact, I had 2 helpings!

Wei Jin picking up a skill or two from Cardiolicious

Yat-Tuang, Sher-Ri & Ju-Lear had a major shopping spree in Harbor Town where the latter picked up accessories for $1 apiece. Models are freelancers.

Watch this space for my features article on Chin & Ju-Lear soon. :) The topic shall remain a secret for the fun of it :P

Poor Wei Jin had to beg to leave Ju-Lear’s place

Cinnabon-clones made from scratch by none other than JL. (btw, you should be paying me for all the free advertising you’re getting) :)

Finally! We made the cupcakes that I’ve been bugging JL since Monday

Sweetielicious & I were eyeing the chocolate frosted cupcakes all the way through dinner.

Another unconventional toast

Doesn’t this look absolutely scrumptious????

You bet it is!

JL’s rose garden

I swear if I to ever become housemates with JL…. we’d be so fat even our mothers wouldn’t recognize us at the airport

We had roti canai & fish curry! What a treat! So ppl back in M’sia.. pls appreciate your curry!

Not contented with stuffing us, JL make popcorn too! From scratch! Like I said, I have a love-hate relationship with you Ms. Cardiolicious :)

Ooooo!!! And in total random-ness, me, Yat Tuang & JL donated blood in conjuction with the Vampire Cup hosted by SAPSA. Let me just tell you, it was just so freakin’…………………………………

Cool :)

Yup, you read that right. I was actually terrified to begin with, probably drove JL mad with all my questions.

But I’m so glad she gave me the extra push I really needed to do something I’ve been wanting to do for quite a while now.

It started off with the normal procedure of filling out forms but after that we were all individually interviewed. :)

The actual donation probably only took about 10-15 minutes but they allocated an hour so that it includes the interview, hemoglobin levels testing etc.

The nurse overseeing my donation was Cathy and she was really really really nice! So friendly and she seriously made the experience almost to the point of being exciting and fun! It was memorable to say the least.

They actually collect about 470 mL from a single donor into a single bag, before spliting the contents into 3 smaller bags. Hence the saving up to 3 lives thingie. The other cool thing was the pamphlet they handed me, it details which component of the donated blood is used in a particular scenario. Maybe when I stop feeling light-headed I will post up some interesting tidbits. :)

I think the staff there must be thinking we are a delirious bunch of people cos’ we were so happy and animated AFTER the donation. :0

And guess what?

We got to order drinks and food for free! :) I mean they actually feed you after you donate!

Anyway, speaking of random. Right after that, we literally hopped onto a bus bound for Harbor Town.

I bought a bag from Portmans for $20! It was so totally random. I think it was my quickest purchase, it was like BAM! “That bag quite nice ya?” JL & YT agreed so… I grabbed one and headed for the cashier. End of story.

Like I said… random :)

Royal Adelaide Show

WooHoo~~~~~

It’s when the ‘unofficial’ holiday begins! Gone are the multiple (and truly degrading negative marking scheme) tests! But ahoy there! There should be some sort of alarm bell ringing in the back of our minds. I guess the approaching 2 week break sorta signals the time to get our asses in place and start studying for the finals (due 10th Nov)! Fat chance I should say if you know me. :P

Don’t know bout’ you guys but I’m gonna take it easy for the 1st couple of days…. do some much-needed non-pharmacy related reading. Maybe watch more DVDs till my eyeballs pop… pig out! Hmm… nothing I haven’t been doing already.

Will stop crapping now and perhaps take the shower that’s way overdue since 8 am.

Ta (doesn’t this sound weird, but the aussies sure love it’)

Pubcrawl 2.0: Drugcula

Here it is again! The night of uniformed drunkness, casual one-night-stands, shameless checking out of hot guys, anonymous groping/probing and many many more sinful acts (ok, maybe not the one-night-stand thing) @

The Pharmacy Pubcrawl

Drugcula

-Its In Our Blood-

17. 08. 07

6.30 Havelock

8.00 Coopers Ale House

9.00 Seven Stars

10.30 Moon Under Water

In conjunction with the nearing of Halloween, we were encouraged to ‘costume/gear’ up with fangs and the likes. Unfortunately, the fangs which Yi Wen bought couldn’t fit my big ass teeth! I mean do they discriminate against ppl with big teeth? Haha, kidding! Chin and Poh Lee had the same problem too.

Anyway, I was working from 1 till 7 and right after work I rushed back home, took a quick shower and started the ‘getting-ready‘ process. Damn tedious lar…

As usual, Tobin House was sort of the ‘central‘ meeting place. Tung Wei and Amrit came over to help Poh Lee prepare. Well, Tung Wei did at least. What Amrit did I can’t write here :P

The preparation started way looongggg before last night. I bought my outfit yonks ago~ And yeah, I bought the pubcrawl shirt but had no intention of wearing it last night. Don’t look at me like I’m crazy, Tung Wei and Amrit made the same decision too :)

Ok, to the main point. We joined in on the 3rd Station @ Seven Stars. It was a pub inside the Seven Stars Hotel. And I emphasize the PUB part. Pretty cool actually, it was well lit and made cam-whoring soooooo much easier!

And to know how packed it was:

Tung Wei & I getting in some practice shots :P

Amrit & I

Like I said, when in doubt…. take a picture :P

Kevin @ The Mascot

Opps! Almost forgotten to mention that Chin managed to put hers on

Obligatory toast shot

Naughty Keth & Innocent Any (or so she claims) :P

Lay Yin & I

As we were swapping stations, it started to rain. That prompted major jay-walking, cursing, shrieking etc. Fun-ness :)

Amrit & her ‘sexy-wet-look’

Like I said, it was raining

And they still made us line up :( In the rain *shivers*

I think I wasted a quarter of my life just by lining up at the bar. There were just too many ppl queuing up for booze

Was about to quit but then realised that I need the booze to loosen/warm up

Nope! Whatever you’re thinking, I’m not an ALCOHOLIC

Chin started to get hungry

And was spoilt for choice

Cos’ we all volunteered to be bitten!

For the sake of the camera of course (^_^)

Melissa + Me + Amrit before hitting the dance floor

My fav: Vodka Lemonade

Me & Mr. Vamp

Count em’

Me, Maarish, Amrit & Any

Edwin, Yiew Lee, Me, Ivan, Amy and two random guys at the back

Yiu Ren, Desmond, Poh Lee, Tung Wei, Big Sean, Amrit, Me & Boon Ying

TRICK or TREAT

Er… safe to say, the guy at the bottom is a tad weird. Or drunk… or maybe both? He was holding his hand like a mike and putting it in front of our faces the whole night long. Karaoke much?

We left at about 1.30 am cos it was slowly winding down eventhough it was scheduled to end at 4 am. The girls and I chased a couple of taxis and finally managed to hail 2 for our ride home.

I guess the damage wasn’t too bad. Considering I still looked sober in the above ‘after’ pic. But goodness know what, my lower jaw ached the whole freaking night! And the pain radiated through to my forehead. Sorta in a tree-like manner. You know? Like how the heart conducts it’s conduction signals? Kidding :P

Got up at 11 something today, rushed to work at 1pm. Nope, not joking. I AM a Survivor. Cheers for me :)

Project McPasta: Mission Accomplished

Mission accomplished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We managed to surprise Yi Wen!!!! Ok, seriously! I don’t know what’s my deal with surprises but I can’t seem to stop planning them :) And also think that birthday parties are never complete without them.

Won’t say no more, you guys know the drill. Scroll on for the thousands of words represented by the pictures. Go figure :)

The Tobi-ans?

Keth & The Princess

After much persuading, she finally relented and grudgingly put on the crown :)

But not before pulling a face :P

We were all starving after our PBLs

Penne-something-or-other (well, all I know is that it had bacon, rose oil, broccoli and semi-dried tomatoes)

Yi Wen, Poh Lee and I shared 2 mains and a salad between us. Y-U-M-M-Y

I think no elaborations are neccessary :P

The pizza bar. Pa! I miss your pizzas!!!!! 4 more months to go!!!

Any, Ivan, Soon Yew, Kent and Chin

Another shot of the Royal Princess

Daniel & Li Xin’s Meatlover

Yi Wen’s ice-cream cake

I tell you man, from now on I’m seriously getting ice-cream cake for every birthday celebration! It’s freaking delicious!

Opps! Looks like the photos got a lil’ jumbled up

Yi Wen bestowing the honourary title to Kevin

MK & his usual tricks~

I think MK took the meaning of ‘celebrating’ Yi Wen’s birthday one step too far. Agree? :)

Takes the phrase ‘ball-bearing’ to a whole new level huh?

Opps! Another jumbled up photo! Sorry~

Piggyback

MK was all excited until….. he saw this—>

Volia everyone! Hope you guys had a great night! Cos I sure did! Muaks ppl!

PS: Do you think I have a future as a party planner? Just a thought :P

Food For The Soul

I’d been starving my soul for quite a while now (the emo posts doesn’t qualify) until last weekend when Chin invited us to her church’s 9th anniversary at Hope Christian Fellowship.

It was amazing, and as cliche as it sounds… I think I did some soul-searching and finally found reassurance. You know… questions to my emo posts :)

I really loved the scene where there were kids of all sorts of colours and races playing together. I was seriously reduced to a wet, gooey pile of mush when I saw an african girl braiding (ghetto style) a white girl’s hair. These are definitely the moments that should appear in World Peace ads.

I’m reminded of how long it has been since I last went to church. Damn long ago. I really need to work on that. It was not until that morning, when I was standing side by side, shoulder to shoulder with the followers of God/Jesus that I really miss the fulfilling feeling when I sang along in church.

The other thing I liked most was Pastor Brendon. He’s a believer of both religion and science. Now that’s a real leader to me.

So, all I want to say is… thanks Chin for enriching my life.

Any, Che Kun, Chin, Kevin, Poh Lee, Me, Gerald and Amanda
